Types of Volunteers

Patient / Family Support

Patient / Family Support Volunteers provide companionship and socialization, visiting patients in their home, assisted-living, or skilled-nursing facility. Volunteers serving in this way afford caregivers the opportunity for respite. Additional training is provided for Patient / Family Support Volunteers.

Office / Special Events Volunteer

Volunteers may offer assistance by answering calls and questions at the front desk, touring visitors, updating records, mailing marketing materials and stocking supplies. Special Event Volunteers support fundraising, marketing and memorial activities held throughout the year.

Hospice House Outdoor Grounds Volunteer

The hospice house grounds are filled with beautiful gardens that require the tender loving care of our grounds volunteers to maintain. This would be a great volunteer opportunity for groups, clubs or organizations.

11th Hour Volunteer

At times, family members are not able to be at the bedside of their loved one when the end is imminent. 11th Hour Volunteers gift the ministry of presence so that family and friends are comforted knowing their loved one is not alone at that time. Additional training is provided for 11th Hour Volunteers.

Bereavement Support Volunteer

Volunteers working with our Bereavement Support Team are essential to our mission. This special group of people make phone calls directly to bereaved family members and friends, mail grief support materials and prepare for our in-person grief support groups.
